3 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:3 (NIV)
As usual I could not decide what to blog about for this week’s blog. I was watching a television show when a commercial for our local television station aired a commercial about the station raising money and food for the poor and needy people of Phoenix, Arizona. I had found my blog.
35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ” Acts 20:35(NIV)
17 Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and will be repaid in full. Proverbs 19:17 (NRSV)
Since I was on a roll I found this…
For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’ Deuteronomy 15:11 (ESV)
A lot of Christians give so much during the course of the year but there are a lot of Christians that they themselves are poor and still give to those in need. We do not give just during the month of December but throughout the year yet it would be nice if the world would take notice and follow suit. God bless all those that give so much during the course of the year and follow the Word of the one true Living God.
23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.24 My love to all of you in Christ Jesus. 1 Corinthians 16: 23-24 (NLT)
After thought: If you are not a Christian and you give to the poor and the needy and do so with love for all of mankind…are you on your way to becoming a Christian?
