2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)
A friend of mine is going through a difficult time. He recently graduated seminary and is now a full fledge pastor but the Bishop in his conference has not decided on a church to appoint him to.
He has prayed earnestly for weeks now for blessings and patience and the church appointment. He has talked about how this might be lesson for him to learn or lessons for others around him to learn before receiving his appointment. We talked about how things are done in God’s time hence why the prayer for patience. As I was researching scripture for this blog and I found this.
You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions. James 4:3 ESV
I know my friend has not prayed in the wrong way I just had to add it to this blog for other people to know.
7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[a] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. John 15:7 NKJV
And my favorite
17 pray without ceasing, 1 Thessalonians 5:17 (NRSV)
It was a nice discussion and we had concluded that we just have to have faith and trust in God.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
