But You Would not Listen to Me.

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

So it was late last night and I was halfway done with the blog when I decided to stop. I was satisfied with what I had written so far and since sleep was beating me into submission I decided to stop and resume the task at hand in the morning.

The next day I woke up with today’s blog in mind and eager to finish the blog so I could concentrate on other tasks on hand for the day. I sat down and while sipping my coffee I stared blankly at last night’s blog. I could not find the words to finish the blog and then I felt the all too familiar tapping on my right shoulder. With a heavy sigh I asked “What did I not do?”

The Holy Spirit whispered “This is good but not what I want you to write about today.”

“Why didn’t you tell me last night?” I asked.

“I tried,” replied the Holy Spirit “But you would not listen to me”.

The Holy Spirit was right I thought about changing the subject but then thought I could post it next week but that was not the case.

I have a facebook friend a person that I have never met and come to find out he runs an orphanage in Uganda. He is always in constant need for food and supplies for the 40+ children that he and staff takes care of. I read that if one family out of every three churches adopted a child from foster care, there would be no more orphans in the United States. That would be so awesome if people actually did that.

17 Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow. Isaiah 1:17 NIV

And

27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27 KJV

So my lesson for this week is:

  • Listen more to the Holy Spirit
  • Help the orphanages and the orphans
  • Help the widows
  • Help the poor
  • Lift up everyone in prayer
  • Read scripture everyday
  • Meditate on scripture everyday
  • Pray unceasingly…for everyone everyday
  • Spend more time with God everyday
  • Go to Bed. Wake up next day and repeat.

I love being a Christian.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
