How to Make Someone Read the Bible

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

A few months ago my dad had his checking account compromised by an unknown cyber thief fortunately the cyber thief only got away with only $200 dollars instead of the two thousand they had asked for later. My dad went to the bank and changed all his passwords on his email and the chase account and the website and also had his account changed as well 2 months later it happened again. This time I changed all the passwords starting with the router all the way to his computers and most of his other accounts including his email account. I was inspired to change the passwords in a scriptural form either citing scripture or short excerpt phrases of scripture. When my dad asked me why I did this I cited this scripture.

10 do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10 (NRSV)

My dad sat quietly looking at the scripture in the bible and then I showed him this scripture.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV)

After a moment he agreed to change his passwords to the scriptures that he chooses it took some doing but I also included some key phrases as well for my dad’s new passwords. Now if anyone wants to find out what my dad’s passwords are they would have to read the bible to find it. I should add that since we changed the passwords my dad has not had another cyber stealing incident.

Moral of the story: God watches over us and protects us from the evil one…always. Sometimes we just need to be reminded.

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
