2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)
Sometimes I read and read the bible thinking I might find some grain of guidance or wisdom that I would write about in my weekly blogs. Sometimes I am fortunate and the Holy Spirit guides me to the wisdom I needed to blog about early in the week and sometimes not. It was Sunday when I read this scripture.
9 but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 10 Therefore I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities for the sake of Christ; for whenever I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NRSV)
My first thought was that it was in reference to my youngest brother that I wrote about in last week’s blog but there were so many other times in my life that I stood quietly as someone would assail me verbally but I always stood strong. When I thought of these moments I realized that it was God that was holding me up the whole time. I smiled as I realized not only had I found this week’s blog and that the Holy Spirit guided me to this but that God is always with us. God is always there to help us in the worst of our times as we face difficult challenges and obstacles and unkind people. Then I thought…oh oh.
God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
