From New Testament to Old Testament and Back Again

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

I always pray for wisdom and then I thought if I prayed for wisdom then I should read the bible and if I read the bible I just might find some morsel of wisdom that God has left for us. Last week I found this nugget of wisdom in the book of Galatians. I always have heard of this scripture but then I always forget where it is so in order to prevent that from happening again I decided to blog about it.

26 For you are all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And all who have been united with Christ in baptism have put on Christ, like putting on new clothes. 28 There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you. Galatians 3:26-29 (NLT)

So I went back and looked at the promise that God made with Abram which is in the book of Genesis.

12 The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

“I will make you into a great nation,
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.”

Genesis 12:1-3 (NIV)

So we that have faith in Christ Jesus are the children of God and now we belong to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and we also are heirs to the promise that God made with Abraham… and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” I just learned something new and wonderful today.

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
