2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)
I had finished writing today’s blog Sunday night then Monday morning I was reading the bible, as I do every morning, when the Holy Spirit showed me something that made me sit down and re-write today’s blog.
In chapters 35 through 40 of the book of Exodus God tells Moses to make a tabernacle a tent if you will that served much like a church. God tells Moses in great detail and measurements how this tabernacle should be constructed and with what materials. God even blesses a few craftsmen with the skill and mastery needed to complete the task in the ornate fashion that God had commanded.
In the book of Leviticus the first 17 chapters explains in great detail about a variety of offerings made to God such as sin offerings peace offering those offering that Aaron had to make so he would be right with God before entering the tabernacle cleansing offering to heal people and make them ceremonial clean with God and the community. Most of these offering were sacrifices of lambs, rams and bulls but if you were poor and had none of these than sacrificing two turtle doves was also acceptable something Joseph and Mary did when Jesus was born. There is so much detail that Aaron and his sons had to pay attention to as they presented themselves and the offerings to God outside and inside of the tabernacle. Two of Aaron sons died by God’s hands because they did not follow God’s instructions correctly.
Now this is the scripture that caused me to re-write today’s blog.
4 Ye shall do my judgments, and keep mine ordinances, to walk therein: I am the Lord your God.
5 Ye shall therefore keep my statutes, and my judgments: which if a man do, he shall live in them: I am the Lord. Leviticus 18:4-5 (KJV)
The above scripture is in the King James Version below is the English Standard Version.
4 You shall follow my rules and keep my statutes and walk in them. I am the Lord your God. 5 You shall therefore keep my statutes and my rules; if a person does them, he shall live by them: I am the Lord. Leviticus 18:4-5 (ESV)
This is my interpretation of the above scripture. If you follow the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses follow all of God’s commandments and decrees and sacrifice the appropriate animals to God as prescribed for sin offerings and such and that Aaron also follows God’s decrees and commandments as high priest than you will always follow God and His wisdom…but that’s just me.
I could have just said, “Look at this scripture!” and it would be a quick read blog but I wanted to point out the great details that God has planned out for us. The details of the tabernacle in its design and and construction to the sacrifices and of the peace offerings the cleansing and sin offerings and such to our Heavenly Father God Almighty. Fortunately Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior came into this world and sacrificed His life so that our sins would be washed away with His blood. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is the sacrificial lamb that died for our sins
God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
