Thank you Mr. Donald Trump

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:3 (NIV)

I know it’s not Tuesday but I just had to say something here.

Donald Trump is creating fame for himself it may not always be good but it is fame nevertheless. This time Mr. Trump says he would implement a “Muslim database” in an effort to maintain the safety of the American people. Later he denied having said this and that it was statement made by a reporter and not from himself regardless the concept is not new and has actually been done before.

When Hitler and the Nazis came to power in 1933, they instituted a series of measures aimed at persecuting Germany’s Jewish citizens.

Here in the 21st century we are not persecuting anyone we are merely protecting our country and the people in it. So labeling people as “Muslims” and watching them 24 hours a day 7 days a week creates a new job market in the surveillance industry. Or does it create paranoia, anxiety, Should we be able to protect ourselves and ensure the safety of the American people? Definitely but we should do it with wisdom we should not create the same fears and anxieties that the Nazi party did in the 20th century. Yes but it means that human kind has to go through some growing pains.

A young Muslim woman heard this statement from Mr. D. Trump in regards to the “Muslim database” and replied in her facebook page. This young woman was born and raised in the US and found that what Mr. Donald Trump had said was not of presidential quality.

I then realized a strange similarity here as I recalled a letter sent in Mr. Trump’s statement regarding Mexicans and the US Mexican border. Things that make you go hmmm.

This is the cornerstone and foundation of our country. People come to America to practice their faith without persecution. It is that freedom that gives us the good points of our society today in this great nation. We don’t have to worry about persecution from others, or live in fear or paranoia we don’t have to act like the Nazis of the 20th century. We are a country of people that struggled through many difficulties that have many faiths from all over the world but manage to get along with and respect to each other.

Today is Thanksgiving day in the US so I decided to look up “Why did the pilgrims come to America?”. The answer:

The Pilgrims came to America to escape religious persecution in England. The word pilgrim is derived from Latin peregrinus meaning traveler on a journey to a holy place.

Thank you Mr. Donald Trump
