I am not a man who says ‘look, there is the Antichrist’ but one thing I do know about the Antichrist. He will not be a man who pretends to be good, and secretly does evil. He will be a man who openly does evil, and people cheer for it, because THEY are evil.
He will be a man who speaks the evil in men’s hearts, and smiles, and shrugs, and makes it seem okay. And they will love him for speaking out their evil hearts.
In the past, it seemed that the world would get worse and worse and then it would get to a break-point. And steam would let off, and the pressure of evil would be relieved with a little righteousness. It doesn’t seem to be happening this time. We should earnestly pray for it to be so. Pray for righteousness. Pray for true righteousness, not ‘as good as we can get.’ but real righteousness. The truth is, in this evil world, it doesn’t look like we’re going to ‘get’ a leader who is truly righteous.
We don’t need one. We have the Most High. We have Jesus Christ, and his righteousness is enough for us. Let us pray for a righteous leader, but before that. Let us pray to BE righteous. Let us pray as Christians, for God to cut through our dogmas, and ideologies, and traditions, and come through to our hearts with the truth. Let us pray not just to ‘have’ righteous leaders, but to ‘be’ a righteous people.
Let me tell you one more thing. Of all my closest friends. The more biblically educated they are, and the more biblical knowledge they have. The less likely they are to be supporters of this man. I believe it is because biblical knowledge has given them the spirit of discernment, to see through the deception. And Paul, in this letter to Timothy explains why.
“But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 3:13-15
And finally. The song.
I have had some pretty intense words with people about this man, and these people vying for leadership in our country. And this song has helped me deal with the trouble of. Loving people, and knowing they are going the wrong direction. There is only so much you can do or say. They have to go their own way, but they do not have to take you with them.
The nation may vote for evil, but be firm in your knowledge that God knows that you did not give your voice to it. You did not give your “Amen” to the evil.
And if and when they crash and burn, it is God who has the last say. Remain true to Jesus Christ, and he can save us from the Hell they reap.
