Everyday Worship

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

I am presently reading the book of John and this scripture caught my attention.

21 “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth”. John 4:21-24 (NIV)

I take care of my parents running errands and general house work. My mom has Parkinson’s disease and is no longer able to walk so she is bed bound and her care requires some lifting and turning. My dad tries to help but his strength is starting to slowly leave him but my dad’s presence is comforting to my mom especially while I clean her or her and the bed depending on what happens.

Every Sunday my dad goes to church and I stay home taking care of my mom. We use to take turns going to church but far too often I would come home from church only to find my dad struggling and out of breath trying to take care of my mom. So now I just stay home and take care of my mom while my dad carries on with worship and his various duties in the church. I am comfortable with that but sometimes I miss going to church so I talk to God in prayer…a lot. I consider this a form of worship for me but there are other people other Christians that would think otherwise. I just shrug my shoulders and say “I do the things that God wants me to do” and go on with my day.

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
