Not Entirely About Lent

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

Christmas is when we Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ our lord and savior. Easter is the mourning celebration in that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior rose into God’s kingdom. Christians mourn because Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior died on the cross for us but we celebrate because God lifted Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior out of the grave and into heaven and gave His only son eternal life and full authority over all things.   Lent started on February 26th and ends on April 11th. Symbolically Lent last 40 days and 40 nights as Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior spent that much time praying to our Heavenly Father God Almighty fasting in the desert.

Lent is the time where Christians do many things to gain a closer walk with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. For some it is repentance, moderation, fasting, spiritual discipline and self denial and usually in some combination and always with meditation and prayer. So being a Christian is not just one day out of the week its everyday all day long from the moment we wake up to the minute we fall asleep.

It’s not easy being a Christian it’s not easy being persecuted by friends and neighbors and sometimes even by your own family but the Christian faith is full of goodness, love, hope, and joy and so much more.

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  John 3:16 (NKJV)

God loves everyone in this world and I mean everyone. God loves the people of this world so much that God sent His only son to this world. Jesus Christ our lord and Savior spread His love, wisdom, all the miracles, and ministry to all the people around Him so that we would know of God’s love for us.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 (NKJV)

God could have saved His son Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior from the pain and the suffering as well as death but He did not. When Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior died on the cross He died for us and all our sins died with Him.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  1 John 1:9 (NKJV)

So in prayer if we say and confess and repent our sins and accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior then we will be saved and have eternal life and know goodness. So Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior during Christmas spend Lent growing closer to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior mourn for Him on Good Friday as He died on the cross for us and celebrate Easter Sunday as the day that Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior being risen into God’s kingdom. It’s easy to become a Christian but having a close relationship takes time and effort but well worth the journey.

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
