Not Home Alone

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

Being quarantined or staying-at-home is not a novel concept

If the shiny spot on the skin is white but does not appear to be more than skin deep and the hair in it has not turned white, the priest is to isolate the affected person for seven days. Leviticus 13:4 (NIV)

Here God instructs Moses and Aaron and to treat those with skin rashes, which in those days were symptoms of other disease processes, and to isolate these people away from the rest of the camp so the unknown disease would not spread throughout the rest of the camp. So God told them this to protect everyone and keep the camp from being overrun by disease. Now we are employing the same ancient wisdom here in our present day society…God is great!!!

These past few weeks have been difficult for the churches and most have closed their doors to worship services and opted for online worship services instead which I think is brilliant however, everyday I am reminded of this scripture.

20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:20 (KJV)

So nearly everyday my dad and I spend just a few minutes in prayer lifting our family to God asking Him to watch over and protect our family. I enjoy these brief moments in our daily life where we spend time praying to God. My dad is 90 years old and somewhat active but we have become closer in our relationship since we started praying together.

Church is great place to meet and fellowship with other Christians and God is there too when we come to worship Him. While we are at home keeping ourselves and everyone around us safe and out of harm’s way I remind my dad even while we are at home that God is with us when we pray together.

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
