2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)
Nobody ever said that being a Christian is easy. As a matter of fact there have many times in my Christian journey where I would just look up and say, “What did I do?” Or just fall to my knees and say, “Forgive me my sins” Or the “Is there a lesson here for me in this because if there is I don’t get it”. Or my personal favorite “Lord pour out your knowledge and wisdom on me” mostly because I still don’t get it. There are times in my life that extraordinary circumstances calls for lots of prayers…like a lot of praying…everyday.
My brother is one of those extraordinary circumstances because he has no love for me. He does not acknowledge me in family or group instances. I always remember to praise him and say “thank-you” for all the things that he has done for my parents. When he does talk to me he grunts one words responses. I have to pray for him and his family and forgive him and ask God to forgive him. It’s hard sometimes I just get so angry with the way he treats me which is very poorly he does not treat me like a brother or a Christian brother, yes he is a Christian, but he does treat me less than life or at least it feels that way. This has been going on for a few years now and I don’t know how to reach him. The other day I saw this scripture.
9 In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. 1 John 4:9-12
Simply put God loves us and our Heavenly Father God Almighty sent His one and only son to us because God loves us so much. Since our Heavenly Father God Almighty loved us so much we should love one another and even though we have not seen God, and no one has, if we love each other then God will be with us and God’s love will grow within us. Then I remembered this.
8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8
So love everyone and it will be through that love that we will be able to forgive many, many times because of God’s love within our own hearts. Nobody ever said that being a Christian is easy.
God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
