Not About Bad People ( well maybe a little)

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

Last week I re-posted a blog titled “An Atheist Weak Sauce” for the one reason that Atheists and or Agnostics would say that the bible is a made up hoax. We Christians do not believe that in fact we feel that the bible contains truths and wisdom. While researching the topic I found an article that claimed that God is evil…apparently the poor soul has not read the bible. God is full of love, and goodness, something I will point out in the following scriptures below. However, the evil one is full of deceit and treachery and one should not be listening to him…but some people do anyway…and they probably do not know it.

A couple of weeks ago one of our members was reading the news and became angry at all the violence in the world. He commented on the state of the United States and asked angrily “Why does God make evil people?”

13 When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14 but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. James 1:13-15

The answer is quite simple: God does not make evil people but rather people choose to be evil and do violence. I could go on for pages and pages about this and in the end; it would be called a dissertation. Instead let me be brief and simple.

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” Genesis 1:26

This is the simplest answer to the question “Why does God make evil people?” God created man in God’s image full of love and with free will. So then, God does not create evil people but rather people chose to be evil.

Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8

Here is my thought on this particular scripture. If we are created in the image of God then we are infused with God’s love at birth. Love is not an emotion or a behavior that is learned or acquired it is not instinctual or innate. By reasoning, all people have the ability to choose goodness and love and God but not everyone chooses to do so…why? I do not know.

Here are two more reasons to be a Christian and not be a sinner or do evil.

16 “For God so loved the world] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

and

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
