Consider This…

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

I purposefully saved this part for last because of one small thing.

Daniel is a favorite to King Darius amongst all of the king’s administrators. This group of administrators became jealous of Daniel and wanted Daniel out of the king’s favor.  Therefore, they tricked King Darius into making a law that forbids anyone praying to Heavenly Father God Almighty illegal. Well since Daniel prayed to our Heavenly Father God Almighty three times a day, they informed the king of Daniel praying to God. The king was very upset with this news and struggled to find a way to save Daniel. Finally, that night with no other options King Darius had Daniel put into the lion’s den. The next morning King Darius hurried to the lion’s den only to find Daniels had survived the night…

23 The king was overjoyed and gave orders to lift Daniel out of the den. And when Daniel was lifted from the den, no wound was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. Daniel 6:23

Here is that one small thing. King Darius was so elated that God had saved Daniel’s life he said this.

26 “I issue a decree that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence the God of Daniel.

“For he is the living God
and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
his dominion will never end.
27 He rescues and he saves;
he performs signs and wonders
in the heavens and on the earth.
He has rescued Daniel
from the power of the lions.”
Daniel 6:26-27

I feel like at that moment King Darius believed in our Heavenly Father God Almighty the One True Living God.

Therefore, there are two themes in this event. One, stay strong in your faith in God and God will always watch over you and protect you. Two, through your faith others will come to see our Heavenly Father God Almighty.
