2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)
The book of Amos starts with the lord of Heavens Armies sending a message to Amos through a vision.
3 This is what the Lord says:
“The people of Damascus have sinned again and again,
and I will not let them go unpunished!
They beat down my people in Gilead
as grain is threshed with iron sledges.
4 So I will send down fire on King Hazael’s palace,
and the fortresses of King Ben-hadad will be destroyed.
5 I will break down the gates of Damascus
and slaughter the people in the valley of Aven.
I will destroy the ruler in Beth-eden,
and the people of Aram will go as captives to Kir,”
says the Lord. Amos 1:3-5
Once again, we return to the main theme of people sinning, worshiping false idols, NOT turning to God, and NOT following God’s commandments and this is not the only city God talks about. Many of the neighboring towns and cities have also sinned against God such as Gaza, Tyre, Edom, Ammon, Moab, Judah and Israel.
Once again, the Lord of Heavens Armies says this.
4 For thus says the Lord to the house of Israel: “Seek me and live; Amos 5:4
Again, God pours out His grace and mercy onto the people if they would just turn back to God and follow His commandments. We see this theme repeatedly in the Old Testament.
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV
God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
