2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)
After the book of Micah there is the book of Nahum in which our Heavenly Father God Almighty is angry again at Nineveh for turning back toward their previous sinful awful ways (I know people like this in my life). Once again, the Lord of Heavens armies send a prophet, Nahum, to Nineveh to warn them of their impending doom because of their sins.
In the book of Habakkuk in the very first chapter, I read this scripture.
2 How long, Lord, must I call for help,
but you do not listen?
Or cry out to you, “Violence!”
but you do not save?
3 Why do you make me look at injustice?
Why do you tolerate wrongdoing?
Destruction and violence are before me;
there is strife, and conflict abounds.
4 Therefore the law is paralyzed,
and justice never prevails.
The wicked hem in the righteous,
so that justice is perverted.
I see this now in our present day world.
Lately many of the books I have been reading are short, usually 1 to 5 chapters long, which means my scripture reading is much farther ahead then my blogs. So here is the short condense version of those blogs in regards to these books
Here in the book of Zephaniah there is this scripture.
2 “I will sweep away everything
from the face of the earth,”
declares the Lord.
3 “I will sweep away both man and beast;
I will sweep away the birds in the sky
and the fish in the sea—
and the idols that cause the wicked to stumble.”[a]
“When I destroy all mankind
on the face of the earth,”
declares the Lord,
4 “I will stretch out my hand against Judah
and against all who live in Jerusalem.
I will destroy every remnant of Baal worship in this place,
the very names of the idolatrous priests— Zephaniah 1:2-4
Again, the theme of the Old Testament that the Lord of Heavens Armies will destroy cities and nations because of their sinful ways can be seen.
In the book of Haggai the Lord of Heavens Armies asked this of the prophet Haggai to tell the people.
7 This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. 8 Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored,” says the Lord. Haggai 1:7-8
I found this little nugget in the book of Zachariah.
2 “The Lord was very angry with your ancestors. 3 Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty. 4 Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord. 5 Where are your ancestors now? And the prophets, do they live forever? Zechariah 1:2-5
So then, the Lord of Heavens Armies wants to pour out His mercy and grace if the people would just turn away from their evil sinful ways.
Here is a little something I found in the book of Malachi.
2 “And now, you priests, this warning is for you. 2 If you do not listen, and if you do not resolve to honor my name,” says the Lord Almighty, “I will send a curse on you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have already cursed them, because you have not resolved to honor me. Malachi 2 :1-2
Even the priests are not saved because…
8 But you have turned from the way and by your teaching have caused many to stumble; you have violated the covenant with Levi,” says the Lord Almighty. Malachi 2:8
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV
God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
