Consider This…

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2 (NIV)

There are 28 chapters in the book of Matthew, which mean I am not even halfway done. As I said before there are many great scriptures in this book and the books that follow so, I will take my time addressing those scriptures that are notable to me in my journey as a Christian.

38 Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Matthew 10:38

This scripture like so many parts of the bible is true there are so many interpretations of great depth about this particular scripture but my interpretation is much simpler. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior wants everyone to follow Him but not everyone wants to follow Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Therefore, this statement is for those people that do not wish to follow to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

10 This is the one about whom it is written:“‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ Matthew 11:10

The above scripture is about John the baptist who is also referenced in the Book of Matthew Chapter 3 and in the scriptures seen below.

For this is the one referred to by Isaiah the prophet when he said,

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness,

‘Make ready the way of the Lord,

Make His paths straight!’” Matthew 3:3

And this one from the book of Isaiah

The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
” Prepare the way of the LORD;
Make straight in the desert
A highway for our God.

Isaiah 40:3

And this from the book of Malachi

“Behold, I send My messenger,
And he will prepare the way before Me.
And the Lord, whom you seek,
Will suddenly come to His temple,
Even the Messenger of the covenant,
In whom you delight.
Behold, He is coming,”
Says the LORD of hosts.

Malachi 3:1

The scriptures from the book of Isaiah and the book of Malachi are from the Old Testament and are important because they foretold of John the Baptist baptizing Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, which is, in my opinion, a very important event.

16 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. 17 And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21 (KJV)
